  • News: UIP held its first “Annual Puck Drop” at the Eccentric Club in Gloversville with great success! Displays, media, and government officials attended in support of the progress being made, along with recognition in becoming a member of the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce. Article published in the Leader Harold titled “Upstate Ice Plex joins Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber” by Jason Subik.
  • News: Mrs. Cleland along with the UIP Board Members were interviewed by News Channel Ten (WTEN) of Albany NY. WTEN gathered the history, reasoning, and new vision of the build as the UIP advances. Titled “Progress being made on Upstate Ice Plex” by Tommy Valentine.
  • Press: Article published in the Leader Herald and Schenectady Gazette “Upstate Ice Plex in Fulton County Concept Unveiled” by Jason Subik. UIP presented to the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth on September 23, 2022. Tim Rizzo and Kevin Capobianco presented the proposed project while receiving positive feedback from the CRG and stressed the high levels of interest received from residents.
  • Webpage launched by American Marketing Company, of Malta, August 2022. In addition to producing the UIP’s first promotional Rack Card.
  • Press: The Leader Herald and Schenectady Gazette posted a written article on the UIP formation and funding request on July 14, 2022. Titled “3 Fulton County projects submitted for Federal Funds” by Jason Subik.
  • UIP presented to the Fulton County ED&E Committee on June 29, 2022. Presentation was on target and gave a good introduction.
  • UIP gained traction and support from Senator Kirsten Gillibrand under Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and related agencies congressionally directed spending request for 2021 and 2022. Commenting that “The Ice Plex will provide recreational sport and community involvement for children, families, and athletes to exercise. The Ice Plex would promote local business drawing in residents from out of the area and be utilized year-round."
